Maids and Matrons Club of Nocona met Tuesday, January 22 at the Home of Jeannine Fitts. Mrs. Fitts’ co-hostess for the meeting was Frances Sewell. The program theme for the day was International Affairs. Program leader Jean Yager introduced Janet Morgan to the group. Ms. Morgan told stories of her experiences in India while dressed in a native blue and gold silk Sari. She explained that she moved the American Prestige Silks flower manufacturing business to India last year. She told of her living conditions, language barriers and culture among other things. Her daughter, Elizabeth, traveled with her to India for a while and she retold stories of Elizabeth’s experiences with her school while there.

Mrs. Fitts and Mrs. Sewell had a buffet of pimento cheese and tuna finger sandwiches and pound cake. Coffee and spiced apple cider were also served. Guests included Trice Whitaker, owner of American Prestige Silks.

During a short business meeting, the nomination committee announced their selection for new officers for the 2002-2003 years. They included Lynn Prugal, president, Betty Brasier, vice-president, Paulette Fenoglio, treasurer and Suzanne Storey, recording secretary.
